I have always been facinated by the beauty of gems and the talent of the ancient goldsmiths that I would see in books and museums. At age 17, I was fortunate enough to apprentice with an extremely talented group of goldsmiths in SoHo who were intent upon teaching the elaborate techniques of granulation, chain making and enameling. After working for 10 years or so for others in the jewelry business, I became disillusioned and gave it up for close to 20 years.

Suddenly one day, I realized that I missed working with my hands; creating lasting and beautiful pieces for people to wear and enjoy and so I returned to my first love and started Aurea. 

I travel to Brazil every year, searching out the most gorgeous gems mined there and return home full of ideas in order to create some of the new designs for my bespoke clientele. 

I hope you will enjoy looking at some of my creations and find inspiration in their beauty as I have.
